Late Payment Fees
9 min
remmu can automatically apply a late fee when a member pays after their due date this encourages on time payments without requiring manual intervention 💰 how it works admin sets a payment due window (e g 10 days after invoice is created) when a payment is created, the due date is calculated created date + due days if the member pays before the due date — no extra charge if the member pays after the due date — a late fee is added to their total at checkout the late fee amount is recorded on the payment for reporting and audit purposes note the late fee is calculated once at the time of payment — it does not accumulate daily ⚙️ configuring the due window go to settings → invoice settings → payment due days set the number of days a member has to pay before the fee applies for example 10 days — payment must be made within 10 days of the invoice date 30 days — 30 day window before late fee kicks in ⚙️ configuring the late fee amount go to settings → invoice settings → late fee set a fixed fee amount in rm (e g rm 10 00) this amount is added to the member's payment total if they pay after the due date note late fees are fixed amounts, not percentages 👤 member experience when a member checks out for an overdue payment the checkout summary shows the original amount plus the late fee separately example class fee rm 150 00 + late fee rm 10 00 = total rm 160 00 members can see the breakdown before confirming payment 🔧 admin override admins can manually mark a payment as paid without the late fee being applied — useful if the delay was due to a system issue or you've agreed to waive the fee to waive open the payment → mark as paid (bypasses checkout and late fee calculation) 📊 reporting the late fee amount is stored on each payment record you can see which payments had a late fee applied the total late fees collected in a period this is visible from the payment detail view and in exported payment data ⚙️ disabling late fees to stop applying late fees, go to settings → invoice settings and set the late fee amount to 0 existing overdue payments will not be affected
